English Teaching Assistantships. IE University. For Academic Year 2018-2019

Objectives ​Assistant teaching at the university level. Mature candidates with excellent writing skills, some teaching experience, and/or writing tutoring experience are highly preferred.

ETAs will assist teaching staff at IE University for 16 classroom hours per week, with an additional 2 hours per week dedicated to planning and coordination meetings. Responsibilities include assistant teaching in the two levels of English offered (General and Advanced) and significant work with the Effective Academic Writing subject, which all first year students must take and pass as a general education requirement.

Disciplines ​General and Advanced English.
Requirements ​United States citizenship, university graduate or in the last year of studies. Initiative and flexibility to serve as a teaching assistant in English and other classes. Teaching and/or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.

Candidates with dual U.S./Spanish citizenship are not eligible to apply.

Grant Duration ​9 months.
Grant Period ​September 15, 2017 - June 14, 2018.

Attendance at the Madrid orientation prior to the starting date is mandatory. 

Grant Benefits ​The following amounts are for reference only and might be adjusted:
  • ​$1,170 travel expenses;
  • 1,300€ monthly maintenance;
  • 200€ relocation allowance;
  • Up to 500€ for project-related expenses;
  • Health coverage up to $100,000.
